To support the athletes and to guarantee their autonomy, there will be 1 water points and 1 final refreshment point.
The Vibram® Mottyno Run Mottarone adheres to the “I don’t throw away my waste” campaign; at no refreshment point will there be plastic cups, athletes must provide themselves with a glass, eco-cup or personal container suitable for use. Each runner must ensure that, at the start of each refreshment point, they have the minimum amount of water they will need to reach the next refreshment point.
Individual assistance to athletes in private form is absolutely prohibited along the route outside of the refreshment points. Furthermore, any form of accompaniment or support to athletes along the route is prohibited.
The route follows part of the balcony that stretches from Stresa towards Belgirate, passing through the Chestnut Path, part of the Napoleonic Road, and the villages of Brisino, Magognino, and Passerà.
The course is 15.5 km long with a 500 m elevation gain, and includes a refreshment stop in the village of Magognino, right when the route begins its return towards the finish.
Please remember that the race takes place in a mountain environment and is always potentially dangerous and that despite all the commitment from an organizational point of view, with men and means, it will never be possible to guarantee the safety of timely rescue in the event of danger. There will be adequate rescue and assistance coverage provided by: CRI of Stresa, CRI of Baveno, Soccorso delle piste Mottarone, Soccorso Alpino, CAI Baveno, CAI Stresa, CAI Omegna, AIB Someraro, AIB Granerolo CIPS and A-Team. All the bodies responsible for the rescue will be provided with the tracks of the race, as well as the ambulance service.

The reading of the rules that is carried out at the time of registration seals the relationship between the subscribing athlete and the organizers of the race itself.

A 30% share of the refund will be retained for expenses already incurred at the time of cancellation
The organization provides alternative routes to be implemented in the event of adverse weather.
By registering, each runner undertakes to carry with them all the mandatory material listed below throughout the race, under penalty of disqualification or time penalty. Random checks may be carried out before or during the race and immediately after crossing the finish line.
Mandatory Vibram® Mottyno Run Mottarone equipment:
The bib is required to access all the services of the event. Each bib is given individually to each athlete upon presentation of an identity document with photo. The bib must be worn on the chest or stomach and must always be made visible in its entirety during the entire race. It must therefore be positioned over all clothing and in no case attached to the backpack. The Chip is an integral part of the bib and is positioned on the back of the same. Before the start, each runner must pass through the entrance gates to be registered. When passing through a checkpoint and upon arrival, the runner must ensure that he or she has registered properly. Punching is essential because the comparison between the two checkpoints allows us to ascertain that there are no missing competitors. In the event of failure to register the passage and the consequent start of the search for the runner, any resulting costs will be charged to the runner himself.
A first aid call point is established at each water or refreshment point. These points are connected by radio or telephone with the bodies responsible for providing assistance, in close contact with the race management, doctor and specialized operators. Ambulances, vehicles and personnel from CRI Stresa, CRI Baveno, Soccorso delle piste Mottarone, Soccorso Alpino, CAI Baveno, CAI Stresa, CAI Omegna, AIB Someraro, AIB Granerolo and A-Team will be present in the area. The first aid stations are intended to provide assistance to all people in danger with the organization's own means or through the affiliated bodies. The official doctors are authorized to suspend competitors deemed unfit to continue the race. The rescuers are authorized to evacuate runners deemed in danger with all means of their convenience. In case of need, for reasons that are in the interest of the rescued person, solely and exclusively at the discretion of the organization, an appeal will be made to the official mountain rescue service, which will take over the management of the operations and will deploy all appropriate means, including a helicopter. Any expenses arising from the use of these exceptional means will be borne by the rescued person according to the regulations in force and for this reason we advise each runner to protect themselves with their own private insurance. A runner who appeals to a doctor or a rescuer effectively submits to his authority and undertakes to respect his decisions.
The detection of competitors is carried out at all checkpoints or at water points. Only runners wearing a clearly visible bib have access to access to the refreshment points. The Road Book will indicate the precise list of refreshment points and water points to fill the camel bag or water bottle. “Flying” checkpoints may be positioned in other places outside of the checkpoints or refreshment points; their location will not be communicated by the organization.
The maximum time of the race is set at 3.30 hours.
In case of bad weather conditions and/or for safety reasons, the organization reserves the right to suspend the race in progress, delay the start, change the route or modify the time barrier.
N.b. “La Scopa” is a full member of the race management and has full power to stop an athlete at any time, even if not at a time gate.
Water points and refreshment points:
The start time of the event is set for 4:00 p.m.
In case of need, the competitor must call the assistance number shown on their bib. In the event of abandonment of the race along the route, the competitor is obliged, as soon as he or she has the opportunity, to go to the nearest checkpoint, communicate his or her abandonment by registering and the organization will take care of his or her return to Stresa. In the event of failure to communicate a withdrawal and the consequent start of the search, any resulting expenses will be charged to the runner himself or herself.
Controllers along the route are authorised to check the mandatory material and in general compliance with the entire regulation. All competitors found not in possession, at the time of the check on the route, even of a single element of the mandatory material will be penalized or immediately disqualified, without the possibility of appeal of this sanction. Irregularities ascertained, even by means of photo and/or video images received by the organization after the race, may cause penalties or disqualifications. The jury of the race may disqualify a competitor in the event of serious violation of the rules:
Only written complaints will be accepted within 30 minutes of the posting of the rankings, with the delivery of a deposit of 100.00 euros.
The jury of the Vibram® Trail Mottarone race will be composed of:
The jury is authorized to deliberate in a time compatible with the obligations of the race on all disputes or disqualifications that occur during the race. The decisions taken are final.
The Road book is available on the website www.trailmottarone.com
Competitors are invited to carefully read it and possibly download and print it. No copy of the Road book will be delivered with the bibs to competitors.
The organization takes out civil liability insurance for the entire period of the event. Participation takes place under the full responsibility of the competitors, who waive any recourse against the organizers in the event of damages and further consequences that arise following the race. The competitor must know that, despite all the preventive measures adopted by the organization, he is taking part in a Trail running test which is a competition in nature and must be responsible for all his actions as is good practice for every mountain visitor. At the time of registration, the athlete must sign the release of liability and acceptance of the regulation.
Only competitors who reach the finish line located near the arrival area and who register within the time limit will be included in the ranking. No cash prizes will be distributed. Each runner who crosses the finish line will be awarded the “Finisher Medal” and the “Finisher Technical Gadget”. A general Women and Men ranking will be drawn up and the first 3 Women competitors and the first 3 Men competitors overall of the competition will be awarded. The awards will be given at the times established by the official program of the event; if one or more competitors does not reach the finish line in time to be present at the awards ceremony, they will be awarded later.
Each competitor expressly waives the right to use image rights during the race, as well as waives any recourse against the organization and its authorized partners, for the use of their image.
